Do fewer things. Do them better. Know why you're doing them.

I know I do too many things. My focus feels scattered, plagued by context switching. Between coding and music projects, there's a fatigue that develops in the space between them.

I admire artists who dedicate themselves 100% to the craft, with no plan B. But I also think this admiration is a romanticization — artists still need to make bread, and usually this involves a formal teaching arrangement or “jobbing”. Teaching or jobbing aren't what musicians usually want — it's often seen as a necessary evil. So how is coding or a job outside music much different?
