move your body, unblock your mind

When you're mentally stuck, move your body.

The way forward isn’t always to keep pushing against the same wall. Sometimes, it’s stepping to the side and finding a new way through.

I can’t count how many engineering problems I’ve solved after walking away from my computer—frustrated—only to return later with the answer.

Some problems don’t yield to brute force. They need a different angle, a different state.

And that’s true for emotional blocks, too.
When you're angry or sad, trying to “fix” the feeling often backfires. Processing it? Yes. Feeling it? Absolutely. But logic alone doesn’t move emotion.

We’re not just emotional minds—we’re emotional bodies. The body has to participate in the process.

As Bessel van der Kolk’s book suggests, The Body Keeps the Score—so we have to move through things somatically, not just mentally.

A walk.
Lifting weights.
A hike, boxing, biking, dancing—whatever gets you out of your head and into motion.

When you’re stuck, don’t just sit there spinning.
Move.
