some work needs room to breathe
Some projects don’t do well under pressure. They need space to breathe.
I spent all day today working on a demo for work. On a Sunday.
Why?
Because it’s impossible to get real work done with Slack binging every five minutes.
I needed space to tinker. To figure things out. To not get yanked into a message that feels urgent but really isn’t.
I needed time to mess up. To take breaks. To walk away and think. To come back and try again. To stay with it long enough for something to click.
Sales culture doesn’t really give you that kind of room. Speed is the religion. Results are king. But here’s the thing:
Sometimes, you have to slow down to speed up.
Not everything fits into a two-hour timebox. Sometimes, a good demo needs a full day—and insulation from the noise.
I don’t want to glorify working weekends.
But sometimes you have to find a way to make room for deep work.
Room to tinker.
