How do we invite only the good stress?

How do we invite only the good stress?

Some stressors in our life are good. Our bodies grow strong under the right amount of stress, so do our characters.

But there is inevitable “bad” stress — I think those are defined by uncertainty and escape our control. If your government is being overthrown and you don't have the means to leave your country, that's bad stress. There's very little you can do — and the price for a mistake can be high.

Can we turn our bad stress into good stress? Is it a matter of shifting our perspective? I'm skeptical but I imagine attaching meaning to the bad stress is one way — and recognizing when you can leave the stressor behind.
